The Gate of Periphery

Project Description

Piazza Martesana placed on periphery of Milan, Viale Monza, 500m north to Martesana river. The place was originally used as a transformer substation of the ATM (the transportation firm)

After War 2, the site rapidly developed for industrial usage and housing. It let the site becomes densed and lack of welfare system.

Eventhough there are lots of public activity spaces such as sports facilities, theaters, green spaces etc, it scartered separatly, not yet integrated. Our objectives was to create a public space and social housing on the site.
