Project Description
This project is about design a national sports centre for residents and the member of Cadre Academy. The segregation of the site was the main problem. Service radius is over 2 kilometres as the nearest county takes about 30 minutes by walk. Therefore, if it is only for general fitness purposes, the utilization will be low.
To increase the coefficient of utilization and create more meaningful spaces, I used three strategies: enjoy nature, abundant function and playful space. Firstly, a mountain-like shape not only maximizes the people’s pleasure in nature but also extends the activity space to outdoor. Compare to the ordinary gymnasium, it is widely multifunctional with a gym, fitness zone, play zone and café, which allow the user to have a variety of experience. Especially, the charming character of it (the interconnected spaces, running track across the attraction, curvy ground and a rooftop) add a more playful atmosphere. To sum up these specific features, this sports theme hub will become a place where people want to visit.
